The areas covered map directly to the Delta Module 1 written paper, which focuses on extending and developing candidates\u2019 knowledge and understanding of teaching and learning English in a range of contexts.<\/p>\n<p>This course is for qualified teachers who have at least two years\u2019 experience teaching English and would like to up their current knowledge with a view to starting the Delta Modules next year.<\/p>\n<p>The course runs weekly on Friday mornings from <strong>12:30 to 14:00<\/strong> starting January 23, 2026. There will be some background reading and tasks to complete from one session to the next. The course is manageable for teachers with a full teaching timetable. The course will be given face-to-face or online depending on demand.<\/p>\n<p>Course dates.<\/p>\n<p>Friday 23, 30 January<br \/>\nFriday 6, 13, 20, 27 February<br \/>\nFriday 6, 13, 20, 27 March<\/p>\n<p><strong>Topics include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Knowledge of language systems, skills, methodology and approaches<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of skills and ability to identify appropriate language features.<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of features of spoken and written discourse which contribute to successful communication<\/li>\n<li>Analysing and explaining learner errors in written and spoken discourse.<\/li>\n<li>Analysing lexical, grammatical, functional and phonological features of language in use.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Contact <a href=\"mailto:ttraining@ihmadrid.com\">ttraining@ihmadrid.com<\/a> for an application or book an online meeting with the course tutor for more information.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Delta Bridge<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>The International House Madrid Delta Bridge course has been designed to prepare experienced teachers and bring them to the entry point for the Cambridge Delta.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"content--description text-m\">\n<p>It is also for teachers who feel they would benefit by taking a year to re-examine the practices and principles which they studied during their pre-service course and reflect on how they have developed these.<\/p>\n<p>It has been written by International House Madrid and is specifically designed to improve your teaching ability and give you the confidence to take the Cambridge Delta in the near future.<\/p>\n<p>The focus of the course is to lift your current teaching ability to a safe entry point for Delta. There will be methodology, but the emphasis is on teaching skills. This is a very practical course; we will demonstrate all the procedures and discuss the rationale behind them.<\/p>\n<p>Candidates from any teaching environment who have at least 2 years&#8217; experience after pre-service training and who have taught a range of learners from beginners to advanced can apply.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Course details:<br \/>\n<\/strong>The course runs on Friday mornings from 09:30-12:30 at our centre in Alonso Mart\u00ednez. It constitutes 30 hours of training.<br \/>\nBefore the course starts. There is an optional pre-course diagnostic observation of a 60-minute lesson with 30-minute post-lesson feedback<\/p>\n<p><strong>Training Sessions:<\/strong><br \/>\nCourse Introduction and Classroom Management<br \/>\nTeaching Grammar and Checking Meaning<br \/>\nCorrection and Phonology 1<br \/>\nPlanning and Giving Feedback<br \/>\nReading and Listening<br \/>\nSpeaking and Writing<br \/>\nLexis and Phonology 2<br \/>\nMuti-word verbs and Teaching Online<\/p>\n<p>At the end of the course, teachers plan and give a 60-minute lesson with a group of their choice. There is\u00a0pre-lesson discussion and post-lesson feedback from the tutor.
