Part-time Cambridge CELTA course in Madrid<\/h2>\n

Our part-time CELTA is a manageable option for candidates who would like to extend the training over a longer period.<\/h4>\n
\n

Experience<\/strong> We are one of the most established CELTA centres in Spain. We constantly upgrade our training to bring it in line with current research on effective teaching practices.
\nFacilities<\/strong> The training takes place in our modern, air-conditioned centre, right in the heart of Madrid.
\nPreparation course<\/strong> We provide a free online preparation course to all our CELTA\u00a0trainees.
\nTechnology<\/strong> We have free WIFI throughout the building and a great library to prepare your written work. All our session handouts are digitalised and available online throughout and after the course. We will set up your own Google Drive for easy submission of lesson plans and assignments.
\nExpertise<\/strong> You will see the tutors teach your students and you will also see experienced teachers on video. Our tutors are authorised by Cambridge and all practicing teachers.
\nLife after CELTA<\/strong> After the course, you will also have substantial discounts on further training that we can provide you with in the future. That can be: teaching young learners, teaching business English, learning Spanish, and access to our own working teachers\u2019 Professional Development Programme.
\nPotential to work for International House Madrid<\/strong> We regularly recruit from our CELTA courses. Suitable candidates will be considered for full or part-time work and a wide-ranging professional development package in teaching adults and young learners.<\/p>\n

CELTA PART-TIME schedule<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Mondays and Wednesdays:<\/strong>
\n09:30 – 10:30 Preparation<\/strong> Trainees set\u00a0up in preparation for teaching practice with time for last-minute questions to the tutor.
\n10:30 – 11:00 Coffee Break<\/strong> International House Madrid has a cafeteria where trainees can have breakfast or lunch.
\n11:00 – 13:30 Teaching Practice<\/strong> The rest of the morning is dedicated to teaching practice. The trainees teach a group of practice students who know that their teacher is in training. The tutor is always in the room to grade the lesson and help out if trainees need support.<\/p>\n

Fridays:
\n<\/strong>09:30-11:30 Training<\/strong> The morning is dedicated to teacher training. There are two training sessions given on different aspects of teaching English.
\n11:30 – 12:00 Coffee Break<\/strong>
\n12:00 – 13:30 Feedback and Planning<\/strong> The session starts with a group discussion on the classes that were taught that week, followed by feedback from the tutor. Time is also dedicated to lesson planning and preparation.
\n13:30 \u00bb<\/strong> Trainees are free to go home. However, some stay a while to work in the library preparing their written assignment or planning the next lesson. We have a very comfortable reference library with access to computers.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

S<\/strong>pecial <\/strong>a<\/strong>dd-on <\/strong>o<\/strong>ffer<\/strong> for October and November<\/strong><\/h3>\n

To help you boost your skill set, if you enroll in a CELTA course in October or November, we will give you FREE specialist training to complement your CELTA. Directly after CELTA, you can enroll on one<\/strong> of the following post-CELTA courses:<\/p>\n

  • Introduction to Young Learners: 3 hours<\/li>\n
  • Teaching Online with Teams or Zoom: 3 hours<\/li>\n
  • AI for English Teachers: 3 hours<\/li>\n
  • Teaching Business English: 3 hours<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    These courses are a taste of fuller training which we offer teachers throughout the academic year. They include the ‘need-to-know’ issues to introduce you to that type of teaching, making you more confident and better prepared for your first teaching job.<\/p>\n

    All add-on courses are online and given on one day.
