Teaching English to children and teenagers
The course is ideal for newly qualified teachers and those with little experience in teaching children. There is a good balance of teaching practice and methodology and provides teachers with the skills to teach children aged 3-16. Two different topics are covered in each session and participants are actively involved to try out the activities.
Each day there will be two core sessions that cover different aspects of planning and teaching young learners. Teachers will be actively involved in the sessions and try out many of the activities with follow-on discussion.
Course contents
Child Development, Classroom Management, Lesson Planning, Motivating Children, Presenting New Language, Revising and Recycling Language, Using Stories, Speaking Skills, Exploiting Music and Songs, Feedback & Correction, Creative Activities, Children’s Games, Teaching Pronunciation, Drama and Movement, Adapting the Coursebook, Evaluation and Exams.
Trainers
The tutors are all working teachers with a wide experience in teaching young learners across different age groups. There will be guidance on planning lessons and a wide variety of materials for teachers to use straight away in their own classes.

The first step is to download the application form, complete it, and return it by email. Make sure you select the course you want to do.
We will invite you to a short interview by phone or Zoom and tell you all about your course. You will get the opportunity to ask questions before you make the final decision.
After the interview, we will send you an offer of a place by email for your course and ask you to pay a deposit to secure your place.
We will confirm your place on the course and give you access to the CELTA preparation course. More details will follow before you start your course.
